Sam Alibrando was born and raised in a large Italian-American extended family in the Northeastern United States. His own yellow brick road took him through Rutgers University, where he received his BA in Psychology. He went on to the Chicago area, where he earned his MA in Counseling Psychology at Trinity University, and finally to Southern California to receive a second Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Psychology at Rosemead School of Psychology. For nearly thirty years he has worked to help individuals and organizations mature and grow. He is a respected Southern California clinical psychologist helping individuals, couples and families grow and change for the better. In addition to his clinical practice, he is also an organizational consultant, working with organizations and senior executives coping with critical business and change management challenges. He has experience in conflict resolution, executive assessment and development, executive coaching, team & partnership building, personnel selection and organizational development. Sam has worked with executives at the American Red Cross, American Water States, Amgen, Cigna Healthcare, Coca Cola Bottling, Diversified Maintenance Service, Farmers Insurance, and other smaller firms in numerous organizations on a range of assignments all focused on diminishing conflict, enhancing communication and accelerating sound decision-making, especially in the wake of a business transition. Sam is a frequent lecturer and seminar leader. His favorite topics include leadership development, managing difficult people, personality styles and team/partnership effectiveness, helping couples grow, addiction recovery, and how people change. In addition to his writing and speaking, he has served as Director of Fuller Psychological and Family Services and as an adjunct clinical professor at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. He served as President of the San Gabriel Valley Psychological Association and liaison in government affairs to the California Psychological Association. |
